Translating the play in July 2006

I first became aware of this project from this blog in July 2006. According to the blog entry, Tamasaburo had asked the writer Yumemakura Baku (夢枕獏) to write a script based on the the traditional Chinese play Peony Pavilion (牡丹亭). The blog writer, who has written a lot of books on Japanese culture, assisted Mr Yumemakura in translating the Chinese lyrics (based on 2 VCDs of 張繼青's performance) into Japanese.

In the 90's, Mr Yumemakura has written the lyrics for Tamasaburo's performance "Yokihi".
